Young people face growing digital challenges: from misinformation and online safety to artificial intelligence and digital wellbeing. Schools, parishes and Catholic institutions have an important role in helping them navigate the digital world critically, safely and responsibly.

The Catholic Media Council (CAMECO), in alliance with with TULIP Trainings, invites educators, youth ministers, communicators and all those concerned with the digital wellbeing of young people to the third edition of the Digital Media Education Training. The event will take place from Wednesday 4 to Tuesday 10 November 2026, with a break over the weekend (no sessions on 7-8 November).

This five-day online training is following the call of the Dicastery’s Pastoral Reflexion “Towards Full Presence” on engagement in social media and Pope Leo XIV’s new encyclical “Magnifica Humanitas”.

It aims at empowering catholic educators and communicators to accompany and connect with young people on their journey in the digital space. The training emphasizes their role and presents ways of promoting wellbeing, community centred communication and claiming back space on digital platforms that are predominantly designed for commercial gain and data exploitation. It combines expert input, practical examples and interactive mentoring. Participants will explore key issues in digital media education and work in small international groups to develop a strategy for a digital challenge in their own context.

Sessions will take place in English and French, with live interpretation.

Key themes include:

·       Catholic perspectives on digital wellbeing

·       Digital media education and digital wellbeing

·       Critical thinking, media literacy and disinformation

·       AI in education

·       Safeguarding and digital security

·       Practical tools and approaches for educators, parents, and youth workers

Participation fee: €240, including training materials and a certificate of participation.

The 2025 edition brought together 60 participants from 15 countries. Join us in 2026 to learn, exchange experiences and develop practical strategies together!
