Organised by Tordas Castle, the lead organiser of the project, the CANA Awards seek to recognise creative works that combine technological innovation with profound human values, putting into practice the vision expressed in Pope Leo XIV's encyclical Magnifica Humanitas: technology placed at the service of the human person and his or her dignity.
The award is open to artists, animators, and creators from around the world, who are invited to submit animated works with a maximum running time of five minutes. From all the entries received, five finalists will be selected and presented during the CANA Awards ceremony, which will take place on 7 November 2026 at the Pontifical Gregorian Universityin Rome.
The initiative aims to encourage the creative and responsible use of new digital forms of expression, fostering dialogue between art, technology, and the Christian message. Through the language of animation, the CANA Awards aspire to provide an international platform for those who wish to communicate the faith and human values through innovative means.
The deadline for submissions is 1 September 2026.
