SIGNIS: website to submit communication and media education projects

Launched in 2020, the online portal makes it easier for applicants from all over the world to submit their projects. New registrations open 1 September

Each year, SIGNIS screens project applications for media training, equipment and production seeking subsidies from the Pontifical Mission Societies.

We have thus been able to support over the years many communications or media education projects serving the local Churches in Asia, Africa, the Pacific and Apostolic Vicariates in Latin America.

In 2020 the online portal SPAP was launched, successfully migrating from a paper-based to a fully digital application process, making it easier for applicants from all over the world to submit their projects.

Some examples of projects that have been submitted and subsidized are: educational projects in Mombasa (Kenya), the Radio Sans Frontières in Mozambique and a Social Media training course in Thailand.

SPAP will accept applications from 1 September to 30 November 2021. Applicants from the AMECEA region must submit theirs prior to 30 October 2021.

SIGNIS is a Catholic non-governmental organization whose members hail from over 100 countries. As the "World Catholic Association for Communication", SIGNIS brings together radio, television, cinema, video, media education, internet and new technology professionals.
